Vi, on Thursday, in collaboration with CareGame, a cloud gaming company, has launched Cloud Play in India. Available for Android, iOS, and web users via the Vi Games app, gamers can now play modern AAA titles on their smartphones. However, most of the games that are currently offered on the service are mobile games.

Vi has also introduced a try-and-buy mode, where users can experience cloud gaming via Cloud Play for free for the first 15 days as an introductory offer. The service will cost Rs 100 a month post-offer period, where prepaid users can recharge for the Rs 104 plan to continue playing games on Cloud Play.

Cloud Play includes popular games like Modern Combat 5, Shadow Fight, Storm Blades, Riptide, Beach Buggy Racing, and more, and will allow users to play these games without downloading them. The company has also confirmed that it will further expand the lineup in the coming days.

It does come with the exclusive version of Gameloft’s Asphalt 9: Legends with unlocked multiplayer mode, two bonus cars, and other surprises.

Note that to play games on Cloud Play, you need an active internet connection, possibly with higher bandwidth and lower latency, as cloud gaming significantly depends on the internet. Users can play these games on either mobile or Wi-Fi networks; however, the service is currently limited to Vi subscribers. This service is best suited for those who need to play cutting-edge smartphone games but have a slightly dated model that can’t handle graphics or has a phone with lower internal storage.
