Taets appointed community president at Farmers National Bank Geneseo

With Bill Dale’s retirement from Farmers National Bank on Dec. 31, 2023, Steve Taets was appointed community president at the Geneseo location. Dale remains on the bank and holding company boards.

Taets graduated from St. Ambrose University with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He joined the Geneseo bank in 2013 as a lender and has 17 years of overall banking experience.

Founded in 1902, Farmers National Bank is a community bank with over $850 million in assets and serves customers from locations in Geneseo, Prophetstown and Morrison.

Country Manor hosts spring open house and social

Country Manor, a local memory care community, welcomes members of the public to attend their spring open house and social event from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Country Manor Memory Care, 900 W. 46th St., Davenport. This event is free and open to the public.

Ascentra contribution helps food insecurity

Ascentra Credit Union has contributed $50,000 to the River Bend Food Bank’s and the John Deere Foundation’s “Plowing a New Path to End Hunger” match campaign. The campaign was created to close an almost $1.3 million funding gap that the food bank currently faces because of increased food insecurity and higher food costs.

“Food insecurity continues to grow in western Illinois and eastern Iowa communities,” Linda Andry, president and CEO, Ascentra Credit Union, said in a news release. “Helping the food bank meet the needs of our community is a perfect example of how credit unions are focused on people helping people. A motto in which our purpose is built upon.”

According to statistics provided by the food bank, in just one year the need for food has increased 62% with a price hike of 18%. With the help of this donation and the match campaign, the food bank hopes to purchase an additional 6.5 million meals to close the funding gap for supporting our communities.

“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of Ascentra Credit Union and their commitment to ending hunger in our communities,” Chris Ford, chief operating officer, River Bend Food Bank, said in the release. “They serve as a great example of a community partnership that is looking out for their neighbors and ensuring their food needs are met. This is very commendable and something they should be very proud of.”

NAI Ruhl Commercial announces leadership changes, award winners

Chris Beason has been named president of NAI Ruhl Commercial Company, and Pete Hadjis was named as sales manager/vice president for NAI Ruhl Commercial Company.

Beason, who has been leading the residential company, Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors, as its president, extends his leadership to encompass the commercial division. He joins John G. Ruhl, who will continue as a principal and on the leadership team in his new role as managing firector, focusing on key strategy initiatives for company growth and direction, chairman of the Leadership Board, brokerage for clients as well as management of his investment portfolio.

“My focus will be on driving innovation and collaboration across our diverse sectors, ensuring we continue to provide exceptional service and value to our clients,” Beason said in a news release. “I look forward to working closely with our talented team to build on our strong foundation and embrace future opportunities.”
