Emerging Leader recognition for businessman
Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine selected Casey Driggers, executive vice president of safety and personnel for Custom Commodities Transport in Gilmer, as an Emerging Leader in 2023.

Longview Planning and Zoning earns honor
Longview’s Planning and Zoning Division is one of 46 cities across the state to be recognized by the American Planning Association – Texas Chapter with the Richard R. Lillie, FAICP Program for Planning Excellence.
Evaluation criteria include the level of training of planning commissioners and professional staff, professional qualifications of the planning staff, breadth and currency of master plan components and completion of other planning related projects.
The city of Tyler’s Planning and Zoning Division also was recognized.

Heard, McElroy & Vestal has hired Rachel Lee Prestwood, CPA, as innovation and advisory manager and Jessica R. George as talent acquisition and development manager.
Heard, McElroy & Vestal has locations in Longview and in Shreveport and Monroe, Louisiana.
Combined with four years of public accounting experience, Prestonwood will bring her data analytics and visualization skillset to the firm to focus on the digital transformation required to do business as technology advances, according to the company.
George joins the human resources department at Heard, McElroy & Vestal, bringing vision and strategy to the talent acquisition and development program that will enable career growth for current and future team members, the company reported. Previously, she served as the executive director of Student Services and Placement for the Louisiana Tech College of Business.
