Deirdre Fields takes the stress out of bookkeeping for small businesses

Deirdre Fields company, Magnolia Business Services is a Vicksburg-based company that is expanding.

Operating in Vicksburg since January 2021, Magnolia Business Services specializes in bookkeeping & accounting for small businesses and nonprofits.  Business owner Deirdre Fields has a wealth of experience as a small business owner and has worked with nonprofits, small businesses, and tax accounting firms for over 15 years.  Fields has developed a strong local team of bookkeepers and is “grateful for the wonderful clients and referrals from our community already.

“Most of my clients don’t need a full-time CFO or bookkeeper in an employee role, but they do need consistent monthly accounting services,” explained Fields.  As a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor, Fields standardizes her services by using the globally recognized program for all of her clients’ bookkeeping and payroll needs.

Fields charges a set monthly fee based on the volume of work required.  Her clients receive the benefit of working with an independent contractor so “they don’t have another employee to put on their payroll and pay payroll taxes and benefits.”  Technology also allows Magnolia Business Services to effectively serve both local and remote clients.

Fields takes a “full picture” approach to accounting: “It’s one thing to do taxes, it’s a different thing to work hand-in-hand with a business owner and say, ‘Let’s talk through your profit and loss together… let’s analyze where you can cut costs, let’s discuss growth opportunities for your business.’  We also prioritize accuracy with all applicable tax and labor entities and specialize in payroll and sales tax efficiency.  We take a holistic approach to sync up with the business owner and their business strategy.” Fields summarizes, “It is in my business’s best interest to see that my client’s business succeeds.”
