What does the business offer? The Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center offers urgent care, emergency care, and specialty services. Through our innovative triage system, we are able to help the community with a variety of ailments that affect dogs and cats. Urgent care is a service that allows pets to receive prompt care for non-life-threatening illnesses. Emergency care is available to pets who are experiencing a life-threatening health condition that needs immediate attention. Specialty services deliver specialty care, including surgery, neurology, internal medicine, cardiology, medical oncology, and advanced imaging. The mix of disciplines help provide the best possible diagnostic and treatment plans for pets.
Why did you launch the business? With a combined 45 plus years in veterinary emergency and specialty medicine, founders Christine Stafford and Katie Brooks watched the demand for veterinary care increase, which placed mounting pressure on veterinary teams. They were inspired to reimagine the veterinary profession and set out to reinvent an approach to veterinary care where teams come first. The mission of the center is to transform the team experience and create an optimal environment for our team members, our partners, pet families, and the patients we are dedicated to caring for.
Why did you choose this location for your business? Christine Stafford, who is the president of Partner Veterinary, lives in Frederick and wanted to give the community an additional resource to help pet owners. Our hospital on Guilford Drive—between Best Buy and Kohls—is located within 50 miles of three major Maryland cities, Washington, D.C., and Gettysburg, PA.
